Navigation around your web site must be clearly
visible and easy to use.
Tip 3
Contact information should be clearly visible.
A 'Contact' page is a minimum. It's also advisable to include
contact information on every page of your web site. So if
a page of your site is printed, your contact details will
be provided.
Tip 4
Minimise the use of flashing and moving objects,
which can be distracting and can clutter a site and make
your essential products or services harder to find.
Tip 5
Not everyone has broadband. Make sure each
page loads as fast as possible. There are still a fair number
of users surfing the internet with slower, less efficient,
dial-up access. Ensure that images are optimised for viewing
on the internet and there is a purpose for every image.
Tip 6
Make your site easy to read by all. Use standard
fonts, like Arial, Verdana and Times New Roman, which will
be available on Mac's as well as PC's. Use a font size that
can be read with out squinting. Choose a text and background
colour that doesn't cause eye strain.
Tip 7
Limit page lengths to no more than two page-downs
whenever possible. It is better for quicker page loading
and visitor attention. Break up large amounts of text into
short paragraphs, which are easier and more inviting to
read.
